Grief can have a significant impact on an individual's nutritional habits and overall well-being. When someone is grieving, they may experience changes in appetite, eating patterns, and food choices. These changes can be influenced by various factors, including emotional distress, stress
hormones, social support, and cultural practices. Here are some ways grief can affect nutrition:
I know the toll that grief can take on the body! When my husband died in a tragic accident, I had to navigate a new life. I wish I knew then what I know now about the physical impacts of grief on the body. I get it, nothing is easy right now, but making a few nutritional and/or lifestyle modifications (like remembering to eat!) can help reduce cortisol levels, stress and inflammation, help to increase the energy you need to deal with the emotional aspect, and lead to overall physical well being.
I'd be honored to add to your toolbox by giving you the keys to better nutrition while grieving. I offer practical functional nutrition recommendations through a grief lens for widowed people and anyone dealing with the loss of a person they love. I offer special grief and nutrition packages, please contact me today! All sessions are online through Telehealth.
